Terms & deposits
Plain-language summary of how we work. Last updated September 2026. This is a template for the shop to review with its own counsel before launch.
Proofs
Every engraving is produced from a written or emailed proof that you approve. Please check spelling, dates and layout carefully. Once a proof is approved, you are responsible for its content. If our work does not match the approved proof, we re-cut it at no charge.
Garden & address stones (online orders)
Orders placed through the designer are paid in full at checkout. We email a proof within two business days. You may change or cancel for a full refund until you approve the proof. After engraving begins, custom stones cannot be returned. Stones damaged in shipping are replaced at no charge; keep the packaging and send us a photo within five days of delivery.
Deposits for boulders, signs and memorials
- A deposit, typically 50% of the quoted price, is due after you approve the design proof and before engraving begins.
- Deposits are credited toward the final balance.
- Deposits are refundable in full until engraving begins. Once engraving has begun, the deposit is non-refundable because the stone can no longer be used for another project.
- If a specific boulder is purchased or reserved for your project at your request, that cost is non-refundable once the stone is secured.
- The remaining balance is due on delivery or installation, or per the terms on your invoice.
Timelines
Quoted lead times are estimates. Weather, cemetery approvals, site access and stone availability can affect schedules. We will keep you informed of any change.
Installation
Installation prices assume reasonable vehicle access to the site. Additional charges may apply for cranes, long carries, rock excavation or permits. You are responsible for identifying underground utilities and property lines; we call the local utility-locating service before excavation.
Cemeteries
Cemetery regulations govern memorial size, material and foundation. We submit designs for approval, and cemetery foundation or setting fees, where charged, are paid by the customer unless quoted otherwise.
Natural stone
Stone is a natural material. Color, grain, texture and exact dimensions vary and are not defects. Previews and proofs are representations, not exact reproductions.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers. Checks and ACH are accepted for commercial, golf and municipal accounts. Net-30 terms are available to approved municipal accounts.
